Our Program/Services
Our goal is to ensure that all students leave Pantera Elementary School with the attitudes, knowledge, and skills to be successful in middle school, high school and in their post-secondary endeavors. In order to help with the development of these skills, we will provide on-going monthly activities to inform students of our monthly themes in academics, college/career, and social-emotional development.
As a School Counselor, we provide in-class instruction to all students. The topics presented fall within the three ASCA domains: Academic, Social-Emotional, or College/Career.
Some topics are presented in small groups for 6-8 weeks to ensure that our students are gaining the necessary tools to be successful at Pantera Elementary School and in their transition to middle school.
Based on student need as school counselors we provide 1:1 student counseling for academic, college/career, and social-emotional development.

School Counselors have a primary obligation to ensure confidentiality with their client, the student. Any student working with the School Counselor has the right to privacy and the promise of confidentiality. In order to ensure meaningful and honest dialogue within the counseling relationship, the student must be able to have trust and confidence in their counselor.
At the beginning of the school year, and prior to each session, all students and families are made aware of the confidentiality statement and exceptions. Exceptions to confidentiality exist in which the counselor must inform others of this information in order to prevent "serious or foreseeable harm" to the student, others, or if "legally required."
