The PUSD Dual Language Immersion Program strives to be a world-class education system committed to empowering students through multilingual proficiency and global competencies. The program is based on additive bilingualism principals so that students equipped with skills necessary for 21st century college and career readiness will have the ability to engage in a dynamic and competitive global society.
Research shows that dual language education is the most powerful school reform for high academic achievement, whatever the demographic mix. The PUSD Dual Language Immersion Program is an elective program that serves English, Spanish, and Mandarin learners with additional English Language Development (ELD) classes for English Learners. This program is open to students of all backgrounds and abilities.
